Elaine Ruth Simons

Elaine Ruth Simons, 80, of Shannon formerly of Freeport passed away on April 2, 2023 at Lee Memorial Hospital in Ft. Myers, FL.

Elaine was born on October 9, 1942 in Gratiot, WI the daughter of Leo and Elma (Carrey) Mau. She married Gene Wayne Simons on November 5, 1960 in Gratiot, WI. He preceded her in death on September 19, 2015. Elaine enjoyed going to casinos, garage sales and traveling. She liked sewing and going out with her birthday club friends. Most of all Elaine loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Elaine is survived by her three sons, Greg (Christina) Simons of Lanark, Bruce (Lisa)Simons of Elroy, WI, Terry Simons of McConnell; 8 grandchildren, Kyle, Kerri, Cody, Lara, Amy, Amanda, Morgan, Siara; 16 great grandchildren, Brody, Parker, Tucker, Brooks, Cailey, Wyatt, Amelia, Kaden, Kamden, Landon, Brea, Morgan, Paiyten, Mariyah, Addiysen and Saiylor; one sister, Dorothy Bower of Wonewoc, WI; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Don and Linda Simons of Freeport; along with many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her son, Jarrett Simons, parents, siblings, Ruth Mau, Shirley Meyers, Carol Gille, Richard Mau, William Mau, Robert Mau, and one great grandchild, Camryn Jade.

Memorial Visitation will be from 12:00pm- 2:00pm on Saturday, April 29, 2023 at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home, followed by a 2:00pm Memorial Service at the funeral home with her son Greg Simons, officiating. Cremation Rites have been accorded.
