Eileen M. Grant

Eileen M. Grant, 87, of Freeport, died Sunday morning in Parkview Home. Eileen was born on January 18, 1924 in Freeport, the daughter of Dr. John Joseph and Marie Kathrine (Schulte) Grant. Eileen worked at Freeport Insurance Company for 23 years before retiring to stay at home and take care of her mother. She was a lifetime member of St. Thomas Aquinas Church, where she also worked in the church office. She was an avid book reader. Survivors include; one sister, Betty A. (Robert) Thoren of Freeport, two nephews; John (Lu) Thoren of Freeport and James (Marilyn) Thoren of Orangeville. Also surviving are 7 great nieces and nephews and 3 great-great nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents and one nephew Dennis M. Thoren. Funeral Mass will be Thursday 10:30 A.M. at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church with Msgr. P. William McDonnell officiating. Visitation will be Thursday 9:30 A.M. until the time of service at St. Thomas. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in Eileen'™s memory.
