Edward C. Rafferty

Edward C. Rafferty, 87, of Freeport, passed away, Sunday June 10, 2012 at FHN Memorial Hospital with his family by his side. Edward was born on February 19, 1925 in Freeport, the son of Harold and Laura (Arbogast) Rafferty. Edward was a U.S. Army Veteran. He served in the European Theatre during World War II under General Patton'™s 3rd Army, 20th CORPS; with the 284th Field Artillery Battalion. Edward worked for Keene Canning Company and at Micro Switch as a supervisor for 33 years before retiring in 1987. On December 12, 1943, Edward married Shirley J. Schrader in Freeport. She died February 6, 2006. Mr. Rafferty was a member of St. John U.C.C in Freeport. He was also a lifetime member of the V.F.W. and former Germania Club member. He enjoyed fishing at Apple Canyon Lake and was an avid Cubs fan. Survivors include; sons; Jim (Cathy) Rafferty of Chandler, AZ. , and Steve (Jeannette) Rafferty of Freeport, two daughters; Kathy (Tim) Wilson of Stoughton, WI. and Tricia Rafferty of Madison, WI, brother; Karl (Muriel) Rafferty of Mt.
