Dusia Walz

Dusia Walz, 97, of Rockford formerly of Freeport, passed away on June 18, 2023 at Ascension Living Saint Anne Place in Rockford, IL.

Dusia was born on March 09, 1926 in Russia the daughter of Ivan and Feodosia (Kunira) Gurow. She married Richard Walz on September 8, 1946 in Austria. He preceded her in death on June 27, 2003. Dusia was a longtime member of Church of the Brethren in Freeport. She enjoyed tending to her vegtable and flower gardens, but most of all loved spending time with children and grandchildren.

Dusia is survived by her two children Julia (Ronald) Sunday of Rockford, IL, Larry (Deborah) Walz of Akron, OH; 5 grandchildren, 5 great- grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings and one grandson.

Private Services will take place a Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home in Freeport. Burial will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Freeport.

Memorials may be made to Church of the Brethren in Freeport.
