Duane L. Blasing

Duane L. Blasing, 84, of Freeport, passed away, Friday April 8, 2022, at Walnut Acres. Duane was born March 24, 1938, in Winslow, Illinois, the son of Walter and Thyre (Jensen) Blasing. Duane was a graduate of Orangeville High School. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1961-1965. Duane did upholstery work for many years. He enjoyed going for coffee with friends in the morning, taking day trips with family, and listening to Opera music. Surviving are nieces and nephews, Wendy Boland, Linda (James) Wean, Dawn (Thomas) Burden, Donald (Lynnette) Blasing, Michael Blasing, Jeanne (James) Crocker, Laura (Bernard) Durham, Steven (Amy) Blasing, and Melody (Richard) Babcock; nineteen great nieces and nephews; and numerous great-great nieces and nephews. Duane was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Marjorie; and two infant brothers, Paul and Daryl, and brothers, Robert and Donald. Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday April 18,2022 at Burke Tubbs Funeral Home. Rev. Donald Blasing will officiate. Visitation from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service.
