Dorothy Lee Allen

Dorothy Lee Allen, 89, of Naperville and Freeport, IL, died Friday July 4, 2014 in her Naperville residence. She was born March 26, 1925 in Detroit, MI, the daughter of Stuart and Eula (Beeman) Watson. She married Darwin "Dar" Allen on June 29, 1946 in Detroit, MI; he died on December 12, 1984. Dorothy was a member of First Presbyterian Church, and a former member of the Freeport Country Club and the Freeport garden Club. Dorothy is survived by her son Larry (Cynthia) Allen of Woodridge, IL; her daughter Linda (Brian) McMahon of Lisle, IL; and five grandchildren Derek (Kristi) Allen, Grant (Kaitlin Zordon) Allen, Lauren Allen, Blake McMahon, and Neal McMahon. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Thursday July 10, 2014 at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home in Freeport. Visitation will be held from noon until the time of service at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home in Freeport. Burial will be at Oakland Cemetery.
