Dorothy Jean Seward, 67, of Freeport, died at home after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by her loved ones on April 17, 2011. Dorothy was born on July 17, 1943 the daughter of Willie Sr. and James Anna (Blanchett) Crawford. Dorothy was a graduate of Childress High School in Wynne, Arkansas. She was an active member of Mount Carmel Missionary Baptist Church where she was a member of the choir and active in various programs. Dorothy retired from Honeywell in 2005 after 36 years and had been employed at Newell Rubbermaid for 9 years. She leaves to cherish her memory one daughter Chantal Seward, four grandchildren; Jalisa, Carl, Andrew and Jada, her mother James Anna Crawford of Wynne, AR, six sisters; Betty Clark, Verna Wade, Janice (Donald) Thompson all of Freeport, Lena (Jeff) Warren, Brenda (Aaron) McGill of Wynne and Shirley Bynum of Forrest City, AR, seven brothers; Frank (Gloria) Crawford, Brice (Barb) Crawford, and Harry Crawford all of Freeport, James Earl Crawford of Aurora, IL, Willie (Louise) Crawford Jr. of Forrest City, AR, Dale Wayne (Rhonda) Crawford of Marion, AR, and Corey (Angela) Crawford of Wynne, AR, and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her father Willie Crawford Sr, her husband David Lee Seward, two brothers Clarence and Ira and one sister Patricia. Funeral Services will be held 1:00 P.M. Saturday April 23, 2011 at Mount Carmel Missionary Baptist Church. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service at the church. Interment will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
