Dorothy J. Roddewig

Dorothy J. Roddewig, 90, of Freeport, went to be with the Lord Wednesday September 23, 2015 at Parkview Home in Freeport. She was born June 29, 1925 in Freeport, IL, the daughter of Edward and Louise (Sauer) Noe. She married George Roddewig April 12, 1947; he died November 8, 1999. Dorothy was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Freeport. She graduated from Aquin Catholic High School. She worked for Sears Catalog and was also a homemaker. She enjoyed cooking and baking. Family was a very important part of her life. Dorothy is survived by her four sons George David (Diane) Roddewig of Portage, WI, Gary Roddewig of Freeport, IL, Dan (Joanne) Roddewig of Belvidere, IL, and Richard "Dick" (Janet) Roddewig of Rockford, IL; her daughter Kathleen (Randall) Hasken of Lanark, IL; her sister Marjorie Huisinga of Freeport, IL; eleven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, her granddaughter Holly Roddewig, and her great-grandson Anthony Roddewig. A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday September 26, 2015 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Freeport with Father Timothy Barr officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:30 A.M. until the time of service at the church.
