Dorothy J. Magadance

Dorothy J. Magadance, 79, a former Freeport resident, died Tuesday October 30, 2012 at Liberty Terrace Care Center, Liberty, MO. She was born on February 17, 1933 in Stephenson County, Il, the daughter of Arthur and Mabel (Griffin) Strobel. She married Roland H. Magadance on September 8, 1961 in Pecatonica, Il; Roland died on August 11, 2000. Dorothy worked at Micro switch in Freeport; and attended Baptist Church'™s Dorothy is survived by her daughter Penny (Tim) Ross of Rockford, Il; her brother Don (Gloria) Griffin of Washington; her sister Jane (Bob) Tole of Texas; her sister-in-law Donna Griffin of Texas; and six grandchildren. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one daughter. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday November 7, 2012 at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home in Freeport. Visitation will be held from 10:00 until the time of service at Burke-Tubbs. Burial will take place at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. A memorial has been established in her memory.
