Dorothy J. Libby

Dorothy J. Libby, 90, of Freeport died Tuesday in Manor Court of Freeport. She was born August 20, 1920 in Devil Lake, North Dakota, the daughter of William F. and Lessee (Vogel) Arrasmith. Dorothy married Robert A. Libby August 31, 1940 in Freeport. He died August 15, 1999. Mrs. Libby was employed by Spencer Gifts and Luggage. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Freeport. Mrs. Libby is survived by her son, David (LeeAnn) Libby of Baileyville. Two daughters; Patricia J. Runte of Freeport and Rebecca J. Stearns of Anchorage, AL. Nine grandchildren; Daniel (Mindy) Runte of Villa Ridge, MO, Michael (Terri) Runte of Freeport, Tricia (Roger) Truckenmiller of Byron Center, Michigan, Brandy (Doug) Quinn of Freeport , Mark Stearns of Anchorage, Alaska, Jennifer (Erik) VanderWeit of Pecatonica, Illinois, Nathan (Alicia) Stearns of Wrangell, Alaska, Joshua (Nicole) Libby of Freeport and Jenna Libby of Freeport. Also Ten great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, her grandson, Robert Runte, her son-in law, Gerald Runte and her sister, Ardyce Arrasmith. A funeral service for Mrs. Libby will be Friday, 11:00 A.M. in First Baptist Church, Freeport, Rev. Caleb Kolstad, pastor will officiate. Visitation will be from 9:30 A.M. until time of service at the church. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery, Freeport. A memorial has been established in her name.
