Doris R. Trickel

Doris R. Trickel, 98, of Freeport, died Friday July 16, 2021 in her home. She was born April 26, 1923 in Freeport, IL, the daughter of Ralph and Josie (Cheyney) Meads. Doris married Arlie G. Trickel December 15, 1940; he died in September 1979. Doris worked for Crum and Forester for 30 years. Doris enjoyed going out for dinner with her family, going to her cottage in Merrimac, WI, casinos trips, country music, dancing, roller skating, and growing red roses. Doris is survived by her son, Arlo Trickel of Freeport, IL; daughter, Phyllis (Gene) Goodsell of Freeport, IL; grandchildren, Nancy (Stanley) Friedly of Juda, WI, Scott (Nicole) Trickel of Freeport, Il, Lavonne (Todd) Dietmeier of Pearl City, IL, and Angie Trickel of Joliet, IL; and seven great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson. Doris was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother, one sister, and daughter-in-law, Carolyn Trickel. Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Wednesday July 21, 2021 at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home with Rev. Dawn Barr officiating. Visitation will be from noon until the time of service. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Freeport. A memorial has been established in her memory.
