Doris J. Strong

Doris J. Strong, 57, of Forreston, died Thursday July 27, 2017 in her home. Doris was born August 13, 1959 in Freeport, the daughter of Don and Marcella (Frederick) Gaul. Doris married Gordon C. Strong August 25, 1979 in Forreston. She was a 38 year employee of Micro-Switch/Honeywell. Doris enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling and collecting roosters. Surviving are her husband, Gordon Strong of Forreston; son, Douglas Strong of Forreston; daughter, Jennifer Strong of Forreston; sister, Marjorie (Steve) Lundquist of Mt. Morris and Donna (Randy) Rinehart of Polo; and two grandchildren, Andrew Allen and Louis Poster. Doris was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday August 1, 2017 at Burke Tubbs Funeral Home, Freeport. Rev. Julie Bunt will officiate. Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Monday July 31, 2017 at Burke Tubbs Funeral Home, Freeport. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
