Donna Jean Welch

Donna J. Welch, 77, of Freeport, IL passed away, Sunday July 26, 2020 in her granddaughters home. She was born June 19, 1943 in Freeport to Donald and Virginia (Bender) Welch. Donna was employed at MicroSwitch. She loved to cook and attend her grandkids sporting events, especially wrestling. She is survived by her two sons, Kenneth (Lisa) Taggart Jr. of Freeport, IL and Joe Taggart of Freeport, IL; daughter, Penny (Dan) Taggart of Freeport, IL.; brother-in-law, Wayne Van Raalte Sr. of Shannon, IL; also surviving are 8 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Preceding Donna in death is her parents, sister, Vicky; brother, Danny; daughter, Joy; grandson, Tyler, and great-grandson Klay. Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday August 1, 2020 in the Chapel of Peace at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Chaplain Sean Huguenin will officiate. Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. A memorial has been established in Donna's memory.
