Donna J. Kellner

Donna Jean Kellner, 87, of Freeport, died December 15, 2022 at FHN Memorial Hospital. Donna was born January 25, 1935, the daughter of Ward and Minnie (Brinkmeier) Paul. On June 2, 1956 she married James Kellner at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Freeport. He preceded her in death on July 26, 2017. Donna graduated from Shannon High School in 1952 and entered Deaconese Hospital (now FHN) School of Nursing in Freeport the same year, graduating in 1955 with an RN degree. She worked as a registered nurse for the Freeport Clinic and Freeport Memorial Hospital. She was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church and past member of the Park Hills Ladies golf league. She enjoyed spending time with her great grandchildren, grandchildren, family and dear neighbors, golfing, fishing, baking, watching baseball and doing the crossword puzzle in the Freeport Journal Standard. Donna is survived by her sons, James (Michele) Kellner of Stuart, FL and Patrick (Jeanne) Kellner of Holland, MI; daughter, Ann (Robert) Neville of Aurora, IL; sister, Sue (Roger) Runte of Freeport; daughter-in-law, Nancy Kellner of Holland, MI; 11 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Donna is preceded in death by her parents, husband; son, Michael; sister-in-law, Charlotte Kellner. Funeral Mass will be 11:00 A.M. Tuesday December 20, 2022 at St. Thomas Aquinas Church. Fr. Peter Snieg will officiate. Visitation 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at St. Thomas. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
