Donald Wubbena

Donald A. Wubbena, 86, of Baileyville, died Sunday, May 29, 2011 at Manor Court of Freeport. He was born on September 18, 1924 in Ogle County, the son of Arthur and Ivah (Link) Wubbena. Don Farmed the family farm his entire life. He married Florence Boals on February 14, 1954 in Afolkey, IL. She died on June 6, 2007. Don was a church member of Florence United Methodist Church. Don had a love for animals, especially his five dogs; Spotty, Brownie, Skipper, Buzz and Missy. He also liked baseball and football. He enjoyed going to Milwaukee County Stadium for sporting events and Clinton Iowa for baseball games. Don is survived by his son David (Jill) Wubbena of Baileyville; daughter, Joyce Wubbena of Baileyville; seven cousins; many nieces and nephews and a sister in law Marjorie Boals of Dakota. Preceded in death by his parents, wife, brother Clyde, and brother in law Bernard Boals. Funeral services will be Thursday 11 a.m. at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home Freeport. Visitation will be Wednesday 5-7 p.m. at Burke-Tubbs, Freeport and also Thursday 10:00 A.M. until the time of service. Burial will be in Forreston Grove Cemetery. A memorial has been established in his memory.
