Donald R. Hess

Donald Richard Hess, 93, of Freeport died Wednesday November 14, 2018 at Presence St. Joseph Home in Freeport. He was born March 16, 1925 to Charles and Venice (Williams) Hess. Donald married Helen Lukitis on July 29, 1950 in Rockford. On September 26, 1987 Donald married Anna O'Rourke in Freeport. Donald served in the Navy during World War II. He was a member of the VFW Post 998. He enjoyed fishing and playing cards. Surviving is his son Gary (Darcy) Hess; two daughters Barbara (Hubert) Gustin and Diana Schroeder; and two grandchildren Brandy Gustin and Kaitlyn Schroeder. Donald is preceded in death by his parents, wives and seven siblings. Cremation rites have been accorded. There will be no services. Burial will be in Willwood Burial Park in Rockford.
