Donald Mcintyre

Donald E. McIntyre, 84, of Freeport died Monday at F.H.N. Memorial Hospital. He was born July 30, 1929 in Freeport, Illinois the son of A. Joseph and Lucille M. (Ney) McIntyre. Don married Patricia A. Nesemeier on April 24, 1954 in Freeport. Mr. McIntyre was a United States Navy veteran and served during the Korean Conflict in Guam as a medic. Don was employed by Kelly Springfield Tire Company, retiring in 1991. Don was a life long member of Saint Joseph Catholic Church, Eagles Club 679, VFW, and a former member of the Germania Club. Don enjoyed following Freeport Aquin athletics, Notre Dame, and the Bears, Cubs, Bulls and Blackhawks. Don enjoyed gardening, fishing and turkey hunting. In addition to his wife, Don is survived by his two sons, Timothy (Julie) McIntyre of Freeport and Gregory (Tammy) McIntyre of Rockford. His daughter, Teresa Glick of Freeport. Three brothers; Richard (Marlene) McIntyre, Thomas (Elsie) McIntyre and David (Nancy) McIntyre. His grandchildren; Jeremy (Tasha) Glick, Ryan Glick, Jenna McIntyre, Michael McIntyre, Travis McIntyre, Angie (Pat) LaBudde, Mellissa (Nate) Kluck and Josh Johnson. His great-grandchildren; Jason LaBudde, Paige Stichter, Howie Kluck, Dustin Kluck, Carter Johnson, Caeley Johnson, and Zakary Glick. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers; Clarence and Joseph and his sister, Mary Conway A funeral Mass for Mr. McIntyre will be Friday, 10:30 A.M. in Saint Joseph Catholic Church, Freeport. Visitation will be Thursday, 4:00-7:00 P.M. at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home, Freeport. A rosary service will be held at 4:00 P.M. Visitation will also be from 9:30 A.M. until time of Mass Friday at Saint Joseph. Burial will be in Saint Joseph Cemetery. A memorial has been established for Freeport Catholic Schools.
