Donald G. Thompson

Donald Gene Thompson, 62, of Freeport, died Sunday, June 16, 2013 after a long illness, surrounded by his family. He was born on April 2, 1951 to Robert and Tomye Thompson. He worked and retired from Kelly Springfield and also worked at Freeport Taxi service until his illness. He leaves to Cherish his memories his wife, Janice; one son Donald Jr., six grandchildren, Demond, Jynacee, Pontay, Mylah, Jaydan and Derrion; brothers, William (Lillie) of Netherland, Robert (Delores) of Memphis, TN., Valery (Charles) Frencher of Memphis, TN and Russel Thompson of Battler Creek, MI; host of nieces, nephews, sisters in law, brothers in law, cousins and friends. Donald was preceded in death by his Mother and Father, two sisters Barbara and Gwendolyn, one brother Ronald Kirk Thompson, nephew Frank Flower III, and a niece Ra Shunda Thompson. Funeral services will be Saturday 11 a.m. at Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church. Rev. Charles Threadgill will officiate. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the time of service.
