Dolores M. Whalen

Dolores M. Whalen-Witt, 88, of Monroe, formerly of Freeport, died Saturday January 26, 2019 at Azura Memory Care of Monroe. She was born October 11, 1930 in Bismarck, North Dakota the daughter of Willard and Elsie Peck. She married Dexter Witt on June 19, 1997 in Spencer, IA. Dolores was employed at Micro Switch for many years as a supervisor. She enjoyed going to work, cooking and most importantly spending time with her family. Surviving are her husband Dexter Witt of Freeport; four sons Douglas S. (Debbie) Whalen of Freeport, Robert J. (Peggy) Whalen of Larksburg, CO, Jeffrey A. (Julia) Whalen of Freeport and Joel B. (Helena "Nina") Whalen of Freeport; two daughters Catherine H. (Roger) Johnson of Rockford and Mary B. Whalen of Dekalb; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers, and sisters. There will be no services. Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial has been established in her memory.
