Dolly Siemens

Dolly Siemens, 84, of Shannon died Monday October 28, 2013 in her home. She was born February 17, 1929 in Apple River, Illinois the daughter of Harry and Mary (Metcalf) Sigafus. She married Paul W. Siemens on October 9, 1953 in Freeport. He died June 17, 2002. Mrs. Siemans worked as a R.N. at Saint Francis Hospital and later at Freeport Memorial Hospital. Dolly enjoyed Reading and playing the lottery. Surviving are three daughters, Pamela Siemens; of South Beloit, Ill. Susan Gullickson; of Janesville, Wis. and Sally (Alan) Gray of Monroe, N.C. Her brother, John "Penny" Sigafus. Three sisters, Veva Manthei, Helen Fox and Carol Meyers. Eleven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, five brothers and three sisters. A funeral service for Mrs. Siemens will be held Saturday, 11:00 A.M. at Chapel of Peace at Chapel Hill memorial Gardens, Freeport. Alan Gray and Rev. Brian LeBaron will officiate. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until time of service at the Chapel of Peace.
