Diantha J. Landowski

Diantha J. Landowski, 75, of Rockford, IL passed away Wednesday January 17, 2024 at PA Peterson at the Citadel in Rockford, IL. She was born October 3, 1948 in Freeport, IL to Edward and Maida (Hagemann) Gimple. Diantha was a 1966 graduate of Freeport High School. After graduating high school, she attended Western Illinois University. On September 11, 1971 she married William Landowski in Freeport. William passed away June 19, 1999. Diantha was last employed at the State Employment Retirement System as a Secretary for 16 years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Freeport. Diantha was also a member of the Pretzel City Red Hats and Silver Creek Home Extension. Her hobbies included knitting, reading, and animals.

She is survived by her daughter Sara (Joe Brown) Landowski of Rockford, IL; brother Wayne (Dawn) Gimple of Dakota, IL; and sister Jill (Mike) Rohner of Rockford, IL.

Preceding Diantha in death are her parents, husband, and son Aaron Landowski.

Memorial services will be 11:00 A.M.Friday January 26, 2024 at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home in Freeport with Pastor Eddie Eddy Sr. officiating. A visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service. Cremation rites have been accorded. Burial of cremated remains will be at Gund Cemetery in rural Freeport. A memorial has been established for Friends Forever in Freeport in Diantha’s memory.
