Diane "Didi" L. Ostberg-Powell

Diane "DiDi" L. Ostberg-Powell, 62 of Rockford, passed away, Tuesday February 26, 2019 in her home. Diane was born January 4, 1957 in Rockford, the daughter of Ralph and Gayle (Fagerberg) Ostberg. She married John Powell January 4, 2000 in Rockford. DiDi was a member of The Bridge Church, Freeport. She was a loving and caring free spirited hippie. DiDi enjoyed being in nature, gardening, her cats, making people laugh, shopping, and working on artwork. She was a devoted wife, sister, mother, and grandmother, who had a heart of gold. Diane will be greatly missed and her spirit will live on. Surviving are her husband, John Powell of Rockford; two daughters, Jessica Hoover and Julia Wenner; her granddaughter, Natalie Hoover; and her best friend, Jim Hoover. Diane was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Kimberly Hoover; and two sisters, Velinda Ostberg and Jaime Ostberg. Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m. Saturday March 2, 2019 at The Bridge Church (1 East Stephenson St. Freeport, IL). Pastor Fred Woodruff will officiate. Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at the church. Burial will be in Ridott Cemetery. A memorial has been established in Diane's memory.
