Desi R. Scott

Desi R. Scott, 54, of Freeport, IL departed this earthly life on Tuesday, May 2, 2023 at his home with his family.

Desi was born on October 8, 1968 in Chicago the son of Laighton and Earline (Parker) Scott, Jr. He accepted Christ in his life at an early age. Desi worked many years in the Food Industry lastly with the Freeport Country Club. He was an avid wrestling fan and enjoyed collecting and building action figures, anime and rap music. Most of all Desi cherished spending time with his family and will be missed dearly.

Desi is survived by his mother, Earline Scott of Freeport; eight siblings, Emmanuel Scott of Freeport, Verna (Glenn) Kerney of Freeport, Laighton (June) Scott, III of Maywood, Jacqueline (Handy) Willams-Bernard of Chicago, Leonard Scott of Freeport, Anthony (Christine) Scott of Freeport, Mike Scott of Aurora, Denis Scott of La Grange; 16 nieces and nephews, Nedra Scott, Daimon Scott, Benjamin Scott, Crystal Scott, Darius Kerney, Amanda Thomas, Chris Scott, Isaiah Wilson, Gabrielle Thomas, Brittany Scott, Ebony Williams, Jovoar Williams, De Andre Williams, Ashanti Williams, Braydon Scott, Makavious Scott; and a host of great nieces and nephews; along with a host of aunts and uncles and friends that truly loved him.

He was preceded in death by his father, Laighton Scott, Jr.

Visitation will be 4:00pm-7:00pm on Friday, May 12, 2023 at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home in Freeport. Additional visitation will be 10:00am until the time of funeral service at 11:00am on Saturday, May 13, 2023 at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home in Freeport with Evangelist Ruby Sample, officiating. The repass will immediately follow at the Farm Bureau, 210 W. Spring Street in Freeport , IL. Cremation Rites will be accoreded.
