Dennis Lee Koehn

Dennis Lee Koehn, 75, of Freeport, passed away, Sunday February 26, 2023, at home surrounded by his loving family. Dennis was born December 20, 1947, in Freeport, the son of Louis J. and Beatrice (Lower)Koehn. Dennis married Dawn Black December 20, 1985 in Lena. Dennis served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. During his service he earned the prestigious Purple Heart and Bronze Star. Dennis worked for Modern Plating for 43 years. He was a member of Vietnow. Dennis enjoyed following the Chicago Bears and Chicago Cubs, working on his yard, visiting with friends and neighbors, but most of all spending time with his family that he loved so much. Surviving are his wife, Dawn Koehn of Freeport; son, D.J. Koehn of Freeport; step-daughter, Angie Black of Fulton; granddaughter, Adalyn; sister-in-law, Sandra Koehn, niece, Stacy (Greg) Wagner, great-nieces, Lauren and Taylor Koehn, and his special friend, his dog, Turbo. Mr. Koehn was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Gary; and nephew, Derek Koehn. Graveside services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday March 3, 2023, at White Oak Cemetery, Forreston. Rev. Charles Threadgill will officiate. A memorial service has been established in Mr. Koehn's memory.
