Dennis J. Manus

Dennis J. Manus, 63, of Freeport, died Thursday June 30, 2016 at UW Hospital in Madison, WI. He was born April 13, 1953 in Freeport, IL, the son of Alvin and Elma (Linnemann) Manus. He married Pam Barker August 31, 1974 in Freeport, IL Dennis was a 1971 graduate of Freeport High School, and attended Highland Community College. He worked as a farmer, 28 years at Micro-Switch, and also at the FSA office in Northwestern, IL. He was a volunteer Firefighter for the Freeport Rural Fire Department, served as the Silver Creek Township clerk, and was on the Stephenson County Fair Board and the Cranes Grove Cemetery Board. He was a pilot. He was a very active member of St. John's U.C.C. Dennis is survived by his wife Pam Manus of Freeport, IL; his daughter Krista (Erik) Lantz of Tucson, AZ; special friends Cindy and Mike Hagemann, and Jodie and Brad Nieman; and special buddy Nate Nieman. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M. Thursday July 14, 2016 at St John United Church of Christ in Freeport. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 P.M. Wednesday at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home in Freeport. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in his memory.
