Delores Jean Anderson

Delores Jean Anderson 90, of Freeport died Monday, May 3rd, 2021 at Manor Court. Delores was born April 2, 1931 in Freeport the daughter of Edward and Florence (Hayes) Gundry. She married Robert Anderson the love of her life on June 9, 1951 at Embury Church and they shared 67 happy years together. She loved to dance and reminisce about her days at Freeport High School. She was a homemaker raising three children and worked at the Illinois state unemployment office for many years. She was quick to laugh, had a big personality and enjoyed her life, family and friends in her hometown of Freeport. Surviving are her children, Brad Anderson of Freeport; two daughters, Bonnie (Craig) Erdmier of Rockford and Beth (Doug) Franklin of Naples FL; brother, Edward "Burdette" Gundry of Wisconsin; six grandchildren, Josh (Janna) Franklin Regez of Ft. Myers FL, Jason Franklin of San Francisco, CA., Brittany (Ryan) Kistenfeger of Collierville, TN, Cassandra Erdmier of Nashville, TN, Nate Anderson and Austin Anderson of Freeport; also surviving are four great-grandchildren, Seth, Miles, Daisy and Ellie. Delores was preceded in death by her parents and husband Robert Anderson. Memorial service will be Saturday, May 15 at 2:00 p.m. at Burke Tubbs Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery and Mausoleum. A memorial has been established for FHN Hospice in Anderson's memory.
