Debra Sue Schmauss

Debra Sue (Miller) Schmauss, 65, of Rockford, died Friday January 17, 2020 at OSF St. Anthony Hospital. Debra was born February 13, 1954 in Freeport, the daughter of Leo R. and Alta M. (Betterton) Miller. She worked for many years in retail & sales. Debra loved watching and going to movies in her free time, singing and spending time with family. She had a fascination and deep caring for animals. Most of all, Debra was most proud of being a mother, and enjoyed being around family. She also enjoyed caring for young children through babysitting and daycare. Surviving is her son, Sean Schmauss; daughter, Katie (Scott) Nolan; brother, Jeff Miller; and one grandchild. Debra was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents. Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday January 28, 2020 at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Pastor Marilyn Noal will officiate.
