Debra "Debbie" F. Cain

Debra "Debbie" F. Cain, 71, of Freeport, passed away, peacefully, Sunday October 30, 2022, in her home following a brief but challenging battle with cancer. Debbie was born October 3, 1951, in Freeport, the daughter of Lloyd and Lorna G. (Luebbing) Smith. During her retirement years, Debbie showed great love and compassion with the care she provided to Lloyd and Lorna. Surviving is her daughter, Mandi Lynn Cain; grandson, Elijah "Cozmo" Cain; significant other of 25 years, Richard Nickel; sisters, Julie Smith and Dena (Robert) Burke; niece, Claire Burke; adored great-niece, Violet Burke; and wonderful aunt, Marlene Swank. Debbie was preceded in death by her parents, and brother, Steven E. Smith. Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. Thursday November 3, 2022, at Burke Tubbs Funeral Home. Private family burial will be held. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in Debbie's memory.
