David Manns

David Manns, 75, of Freeport, died Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at his home. Born on December 5, 1938 in Freeport, the son of William and Josephine (Gaulrapp) Manns. David worked at Fullerton Lumbar Co. He also worked as a janitor at the Freeport Jr. High and the Masonic Temple. He married Linda Pfeiffer on June 25, 1966 in Freeport. She died on November 11, 2012. David was in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. David enjoyed bowling, fishing, horse shoes and following the Bears and Cubs. Survivors include his son, Michael (Melissa Ditsworth) Manns of Freeport; one brother, Bill (Sandy) Manns; grandson, Joshua Manns; step grandson Dominik Rossi; step granddaughters, Jessica Aliu, Melissa Rucker and Nicole Heyen; great grandchildren, Tina Rucker, Jessica Rucker and Ambri Borgmann. David was preceded in death by his parents and wife. Funeral Mass will be Monday 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Father Timothy Barr will officiate.
