David L. Waack

David L. Waack, 73, of Forreston died May 4, 2017 at Stephenson Nursing Center in Freeport. David was born August 19, 1943 in Freeport the son of Wilbert and Lois (Moore) Waack. On March 23, 1962 David married Nancy Rogers in Forreston. From 1961-1965 he served in the Illinois National Guard. David was first employed by the Milwaukee Railroad and following that at Micro Switch Honeywell for 37 years. He was a member of North Grove Evangelical Church and the Forreston Lions Club. He enjoyed golfing, singing, auto racing and following his grandchildren's sporting events. Surviving is his wife Nancy ; son Travis (Denis) Waack of Heartland, MI; daughter Ginger (John) Reining of Forreston; brother-in-law Doug (Sandy) Rogers of Atlanta, GA; and sister-in-law Donna (Robert) Miller of Madison, WI; five grandchildren Zachary (Rachel) Reining, Kaleb Reining, Sierra Reining, Bailey Waack and Autum Waack; and one great-granddaughter Makenzie Reining. He is preceded in death by his parents and son Jon William Waack who passed away on June 2, 1987. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at North Grove Evangelical Church, Forreston with Rev. Tim Hotchkiss officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M.-7:00 P.M. Tuesday May 9, 2017 at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home in Forreston. Burial will be in North Grove Evangelical Cemetery. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in his memory.
