Darla D. Rawley

October 4, 1954 — August 19, 2023

Darla D. Rawley, 68, passed away on August 19, 2023 at Aurora Medical Center in Summit, WI., the results of an automobile accident.

Darla was born on October 4, 1954 in Iowa Falls, IA, to Ralph and DeLores (Meeks) Boylan. In 1972 she graduated from Lena High School and shortly afterwards began her career at Contel Telephone Co. (now Verizon) as a Central Office Technician until her retirement in 2004.

Darla was a very strong “free spirit”. She was adventurous, compassionate, a very generous person that had friends of all ages and walks of life. In 2012 she had a traumatic motorcycle accident that changed her, and her life in many ways. Her passion was to ride her 2001 Harley Davidson Deuce bike with her many motorcycle buddies. She also loved to travel and went to many different countries with family and friends. She loved children, animals of all kinds, particularly horses and her dog, Tyger. She was a very caring person, especially for people less fortunate than herself. Her sweet smile and hearty, infectious laugh will be missed.

Darla is survived by her step-daughter Krista (Jason) Hall; grandchildren Haylee (Jake) Sweeney and Tyler Hall; great grandson Cian Sweeney; mother, DeLores Agnew, sister Lazetta “L.A.” Aden, half-sisters: Lynn Boylan, Karla Boylan, Sharon Rayton, Pam Kendrick; nephews, Robert Short and Jamey Block; uncle Bob (Marcene) Meeks; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her father, Ralph Boylan; step-father, Leon Lapp; aunt, Darlene Kraft, and half-brother, Calvin Boylan.

Darla was a member of Crossroads Community Church; 1668 Crossroads Lane; Freeport, IL, where her funeral will be held on September 2, 2023. Visitation will be at 10:00 a.m., service at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Michael Woodward officiating. Cremation Rites have been accorded.
