Daniel G. Olson

Daniel G. Olson, 58, passed away at home on March 21, 2025, surrounded by loved ones.

Dan was born on April 16, 1966, to Karolyn (Shaver) Olson and Ervin Olson in Lancaster, Wisconsin. He grew up in Freeport, Illinois, graduated from Freeport High School (1984) and Beloit College (1988). He worked his entire career with Keurig/Dr Pepper.

Dan was a devoted husband, stepfather, son, brother, uncle, and friend—leaving behind a legacy of kindness, loyalty, and love. He will be deeply missed.

Dan is survived by his wife, JoAnn of Coal City, IL; his stepchildren, Tammi (Scott) Janel of Morris, IL, and Larry Brandt, Port Charlotte, FL, his step grandsons Adam and Will Brandt of Port Charlotte, FL. He is also survived by his parents, Karolyn Olson, Freeport, IL and Ervin (Karleen) Olson of Freeport, IL; his siblings: Steven (Philip Horton) Olson of Dallas, TX, Cindy (Jack) Martin of Freeport, IL, Cheryl (Andy Stees) Olson of Chicago, IL, Bridget (Mike) Gastel of Freeport, IL, and David (Becky) Olson of Gainesville, GA. Dan also leaves behind many nieces and nephews (Kyle, Amy, Ashley, Rachel, Wesley, Claudia, Eva, Matthew, Ana, Vanessa and Isabel) as well as great-nieces and great nephews (Aubrey, Bennett, Avery, Colin and Adrienne) who cherished their time with him. All will carry his memories forward.

Honoring Dan’s wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. A celebration of Dan’s life is being planned with details to be announced later.
