Dana Marie Mclinn Ewers

Dana Marie McLinn Ewers of Freeport, IL, passed away after a brief illness on November 1, 2021 with loved ones by her side at FHN Hospital in Freeport. Dana was born in Salina, KS on May 27, 1960 to Duane and LaVonne (Veltman) McLinn. Dana was previously married to Dennis Ewers. Dana was employed at McLinn Insurance as the Office Manager for the past 41 years, supporting her father and brother Duane and Barry McLinn in their family business. She also dedicated many years of service to the Boy Scouts of America. Seeing both of her sons, Dustin and Devin Ewers, achieve the rank of Eagle Scout. Dana spent her final years with the love of her life, Randy Buss. They enjoyed going to local restaurants and collecting antiques. She was devoted to her family and community. Surviving are her father, Duane (Judy) McLinn, sons Dustin (Kassie) Ewers and Devin Ewers, brother Barry (Marie) McLinn, sisters Charlotte McLinn, Charlene McLinn, Marlene (Brad) Kleckler, granddaughters Ruby and Nova Ewers, nieces and nephews Kaylie (Branden) Beverley, Skyler Hutmacher, Amanda (Garrett) Homb, Kassidy (Dylan) Lydon, Jesse McLinn, Aly Kleckler, Griffin McLinn, and great-nephew, Cooper Lydon. A special honor goes to Dana's beloved Randy Buss. Our family was truly blessed to have him by her side. Preceding her in death are her mother, LaVonne McLinn, grandparents Joe and Ellen Veltman, Elliott and Mildred McLinn, her brother Christopher McLinn and nieces Angelica and Faith Kleckler. A Celebration of Life will be held at The Eagles Club in Freeport, IL, on Saturday, November 13, from 1 pm to 5 pm with a prayer and service at 1:30. A memorial has been established in her name.
