Dana Marie Martinez

Dana Marie Martinez, 48, of Bloomfield, died on Thursday, June 30, 2011, in Albuquerque. She was born Dec. 13, 1962, in Chicago, Ill., to Frank Descourouez and Mary Hughs. Dana was a special education teacher at Blanco Elementary School. She held a Master's degree in Special Education K-12, from New Mexico State University. She is survived by her husband, Jeffrey J. Martinez; father, Frank Descourouez and stepmother, Cammie Descourouez; mother, Mary Hughs; brothers, Lance (Shawn) Descourouez, Blair Descourouez and Frank (Lynette) Descourouez; sisters, Joy (Tom) St. Andrews and Gigi (Joel) Penticoff; and 33 nieces and nephews. Funeral Mass was held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 9, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. Father Tim Farrell was the celebrant. Local arrangements were completed by Burke-Tubbs.
