Dale L. Kubatzke

Dale L Kubatzke, 84, of Freeport, passed away, Friday December 22, 2023 at SSM Monroe Hospice Home, with his loving family by his side. Dale was born March 25, 1939, in Freeport, the son of Harold F. and Evelyn (Roth) Kubatzke. He married Sandra K. Greier November 26, 1960, in Freeport. Dale spent his life in heating and plumbing including Freeport Supply, which his father Harold started in 1955. He attended Faith United Methodist Church. Dale enjoyed farming, trout fishing and cutting timber. Dale was known as a “kibitzer” especially at Reed’s gas station on Friday mornings and McDonalds on Saturday mornings with friends. He loved “Sven, Ole and Lena” jokes.

Surviving is his beloved wife, Sandra; three children Timothy (Geri) Kubatzke of Orangeville, Terri (Barrie) Hendrickson of Freeport and Trevor (Kim) Kubatzke of Berrien Center, Michigan; seven grandchildren, Andrew (Rachel), Kyle (Cheyanne), Riley (Jamie), Tyler (Abbie), Brianna (Joe), Mariah (Aaron), Megan (Logan); and nine great-grandchildren, Evelyn, Madeline, Emmy, Stevie, Addilyn, Tanner, Cassie, Gabe and Lincoln.

Dale was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Sandra Groezinger, two brother-in laws Gaylan Horstmeier and Armin Groezinger.

Memorial services will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday December 27, 2023 at Faith United Methodist Church Pastor Joel McClellan officiating. Visitation will be 9:00 A.M. until the time of service.
