Da'Chino Thurman

Da’ Chino “Chino” Thurman, 22, of Freeport went to be with the lord on September 3, 2023 at OSF St. Anthony in Rockford.

Chino was born on August 1, 2001 in Freeport, IL the son of Jimmy Reed and Denise Davis. He was a young entrepreneur in Freeport who started Beyond Kiqs Nation; a local shoe business and shoe cleaning service. Chino was a bright, smart, funny, and loved his family and community. He cherished his two beloved pups as his children, Kehlani and Zaina. Chino was an active member with Elevated Voices in Freeport. He also enjoyed dabbling in Freestyle Music.

Chino is survived by his mother, Denise Davis and father, Jimmy (Pershell) Reed; siblings, Dacharrie Davis, Dakita Reed, Zavius Fane, Daqez Davis, Dakaya Reed, Myleka Walkers, David Thurman, Jr., Davion Thurman, Shatira Smith, Angelo Washington; nieces and nephews, Ma’Layah Davis-Erving, Kingston Fane, Zuri Ramos, Kaison Williams, Markeasia Walker, Paris Jr Walker and Royal “Blue” Walker; grandmother, Lue Sanders of Tippo, MS ; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; along with many god sisters and brothers.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents.

Funeral Service will be held at 11:00am on Friday, September 15, 2023 at Faith For Miracle Deliverance and Worship Ministry 3247 South Baileyville Road Freeport, IL 61032 with Elder Charlene Williams, officiating. Visitation will be 9:00am- until time of service. Burial will be at Freeport City Cemetery.

A memorial has been established in Chino’s Memory.
