Curtis G. "Maine" Ishmon

Curtis Glenn Ishmon, 58, of Freeport, Il passed away unexpectedly on Friday July 7, 2017 in Freeport, IL. He was born October 3, 1958 in Forrest City, Arkansas, to James Ishmon, Sr. and Annie Mae Allen. He met the love of his life, Gwen Davis, in 1976. They married April 10, 1990 in Freeport, IL. Into this union were born three children, Trenton, Shayna, and Dillon. Curtis served in the Illinois Army National Guard. He was a hard working man who loved his family. He was funny and caring and was available to anyone who needed help. Curtis loved watching sports. His favorite team was the L.A. Lakers. Curtis loved "Old School" music and even tried to sing at times. He enjoyed hanging out with his friends. He will be truly missed. He leaves to cherish his memories, two daughters Shronda and Shayna; two sons Trenton and Dillon; six brothers Will (Evelyn) Phillips, Jr., John Diane Morris, Jr., James (Monica) Ishmon, Jr., David, Carl, and Wayne; three sisters Annie Green, Virginia Allen, and Nina Ishmon; four grandchildren Robert, Lhitney, Carl, and Danairus,; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters Betty and Gunetta; his brother Christopher Ishmon; and one daughter Megan Ishmon. Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday July 15, 2017 at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Rickey Stidmon officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service at the church.
