Curtis "Curt" Dean Schrock

Curtis "Curt" Dean Schrock, 68, of Freeport, passed away on Friday, December 16, 2022 surrounded by family after a brief battle with cancer. He worked as a farmer for Grant and Norma Burckhardt of rural Freeport and then went to work for Bay Valley Foods retiring in 2016. Curt was born on November 20, 1954 the son of Vernon and Donna (Wagner) Schrock. He enjoyed visiting his daughter and her family in Minnesota, traveling down to Texas, and visiting friends in Kentucky and Tennessee. Curt would often spend time fishing and going to Krape Park with his grandchildren. He would then spoil them with Union Dairy. Survivors include his two children, Clare "Cari" Cammarata of Ellsworth, WI, Kenneth "Kenney" (Andrea) Schrock of Freeport; four grandchildren, Christopher (Kori) Germain, Emily Germain, Magdalena "Maggie" Schrock, Alexandria "Lexi" Schrock; three great-grandchildren, Zoey, Waylon, Willow; his mother, Donna Schrock of Weatherford, TX; one sister, Janet (Lach) Perks of Weatherford, TX; and five nephews. He was preceded in death by his father and brother, Rodney Schrock. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, January 7, 2023 at St. John United Church of Christ, 1010 South Park Blvd, Freeport, IL 61032 with Rev. Hank Fairman, officiating. Memorial Visitation will be from 9:00 am until time of service at the church in the Chapel Hearth room. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established.
