Connie Demik

Connie DeMik, born Constance D. Shupe on May 5, 1939 to Benjamin and Marjorie Shupe passed away on June 11, 2013 in her home. She is survived by her four children and five grandchildren. Surviving children are Valerie DeMik and Thomas DeMik of Chandler, Arizona, Cindy (Brodie) Arndt of Aurora, Colorado, and Timothy DeMik of Dallas, Texas. Surviving grandchildren are Lindsi DeMik, Kayla Perry, Sidni DeMik, Lauren Arndt and Tyler Arndt. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy. Freeport was home to Connie for over 47 years. She attended St. John's United Church of Christ, worked at Micro Switch until her retirement in 2000, and donated her time to support junior golf, bowling and little league programs. She was the go to neighborhood mom for all lost or injured animals and could always be counted on for a good laugh and unconditional support. She loved the Freeport community and will be greatly missed by her friends and family. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday June 15, 2013 at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home in Freeport with Rev. Carol Ahren officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:00 A.M. until the time of service at Burke-Tubbs. Burial of cremains will take place at Graceland Cemetery in Valparaso, IN at a later date. A memorial has been established in her memory.
