Concetta T. Gennusa

Concetta T. Gennusa, 101, of Freeport, died Tuesday April 25, 2017 at Presence St. Joseph Center. Concetta was born May 29, 1915 in Freeport, the daughter of Dominic and Rose (Cria) Tripodi. She married Joseph Gennusa in Freeport on September 5, 1937. Mr. Gennusa passed away July 17, 2006. Concetta owned and operated Oasis Restaurant; she also worked at Micro Switch and Culvers. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Surviving are son, Donald (Jennifer) Gennusa of Freeport; daughter-in-law, Bonnie Gennusa of Freeport; seven grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, son, Russell; and three brothers, Frank, Jim, and Emil. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Monday May 1, 2017 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. A memorial has been established in Concetta's memory.
