Colette Smith

Colette L. Smith, 77, of Byron died Wednesday in Pinecrest Manor Nursing Center. Mrs. Smith was born December 14, 1933 in France, the daughter of Louie and Victoria Kreder. Colette came to the United States in 1954. She married Harold J. Smith on June 18, 1955 in Forreston, Illinois. Her employment included; W.T. Rawleigh in Freeport, St. Francis Hospital in Freeport, and Kysor'™s in Byron, Illinois. She then started her own business, Colette'™s Cleaning Service. She sold the business in 1992 and retired. Mrs. Smith enjoyed being with family, painting, watching birds out her kitchen window and playing cards with their card club. Mrs. Smith is survived by her husband, Three sons; Gene( Shirley) Smith of Byron, Alan (Lora Keller) Smith of Byron and David (Jill) Smith of Byron. Seven Grandchildren; Cody, Zandi and Lanni Smith. Stephanie Smith, Nathan Smith, Josanne and Madelainne Smith. She was preceded in death by her infant son, Kevin. Funeral services for Mrs. Smith will be Tuesday, 1:00 P.M. in Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home, Forreston with Chaplain of Ogle County Hospice, Darrell Ropp officiating. Visitation will be Monday, 5:00-7:00 P.M .at Burke-Tubbs in Forreston. Burial will be in White Oak Cemetery, Forreston.
