Colette (Coe) McClain, 60, of Freeport, IL passed away sudden at her home Wednesday, October 26, 2022. She was born December 24, 1961, in Freeport IL, to John Campbell and Dorothy Fair. On May 28, 2016, Colette married Lendell McClain, in Freeport, IL. Colette was a member of St. James CME Church in Freeport, IL, at an early age. She later joined New Jerusalem Church of God in Christ Temple in Freeport, IL, and recently gave her life to Christ. Colette attended school in the Freeport School District and graduated from Freeport Senior High School in 1980. Colette attended Highland Community College for Cosmetology where she learned and honed her craft as a skilled beautician. She worked for St. Francis, Structo, Metlife, and Liberty Village. She later decided to become a dedicated homemaker. Colette loved dancing, decorating, styling hair and make-up. She had a green thumb and could grow anything. Colette enjoyed spending time with family especially her grandchildren. She had a way of making everyone feel like family. She is survived by her husband, Lendell McClain, of Freeport, IL; one son, Troy Bland, II, of Des Moines, IA; four daughters, Amanda (Jamarah) Guess and Jacqueline (Justin) Edgerson, both of Freeport, IL, Dominique Jones, of Norcross, GA, and Rolshanda Wade, of Snellville, GA; mother, Dorothy Fair; one sister, Laurie (Calvin) Thomas, both of Freeport IL; two brothers, John C. Campbell, Todd (Joyce) Campbell, both of Detroit, Michigan; 25 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews and, cousins along with many special friends. Colette was preceded in death by her father, John Conaz Campbell; three brothers, Martin Williams, Jeffrey Campbell, Mitchell Campbell; two sisters, Deshonne Russell and Paula Campbell, and granddaughter, Malayasia Kolette Wade. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 5, 2022, at Faith for Miracle Deliverance and Worship Center. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be in Freeport City Cemetery.
