Coleman "Dave" Royal Davis

Coleman "Dave" Royal Davis born in Freeport Deaconess Hospital March 7, 1939, son of Fern Carson and Leola May (Graves) Davis. Dave grew up on the Davis family farm, on Willow road in Pleasant Valley. Attended Willow Methodist Church & Fitzsimmons Grade School and graduated from Stockton High School with the class of 1957. He also took piano lessons from Sister M. Georgia at Holy Cross and became a very accomplished pianist, and thru the years accompanied many varied musical combos and choral groups. He worked in the accounting division at Stover Steel tanks for 12.5 years, also took IBM classes at Rockford and Chicago. He also worked in accounting at MGD Graphic in Rockford and retired from the computer department from Kelly Springfield after 26 years of service. He is survived by sons, Jeff (Amy) of Freeport and Shane Everett of Washington; one sister, Thelma (Vernon Law) and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Davis was preceded in death by his parents and one sister Corinne Timmons. Services will be held 4:00 P.M. Sunday August 27, 2017 at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home with a visitation from 2:00-4:00 P.M.
