Clinton Lee Winfrey

Clinton Lee Winfrey, 77, of Freeport, Illinois departed his earthly life Monday, November 11, 2019 comfortably at home surrounded by his loved ones. He was born July 18, 1942 in Forrest City, Arkansas to Charlie Winfrey and Prince Ella Siggers. He attended Lincoln High School in Forrest City, Arkansas. Clinton married Norma Jean Brittenum in 1962 to this union he was blessed with five children. He later moved to Freeport, Illinois there he was blessed with three more children. Clinton worked at Kelly Springfield/Titan Tires from 1971 until he retired in 2005 after 34 years of service. Clint loved to gather with friends to talk, laugh, joke and cruise around town. He enjoyed taking trips to the casino in his spare time. He leaves to cherish his memories his children Clinton Winfrey Jr., Tracey (Walter) Winfrey Bassett all of Oklahoma, Stanley Winfrey, Stevie Winfrey both of Arkansas, Tony (Shirley) Winfrey of Florida, Mario Allen of Minnesota, Felisha Allen of Freeport, Chatel Allen of Missouri, three stepchildren Bernard (Odessa) Brittenum , Julius (Devon) Smith both of Virginia. Sisters; Beverly Winfrey Ashley, of Georgia, Cathy Winfrey, Sherri Winfrey Carr of Texas, Lettie Winfrey, Cheryl Winfrey, Doris Randle all of Arkansas. Special cousins Sandra Siggers and Robert Dale Winfrey, Special friend David Clark, Twenty one grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by both parents, grandparents, sister Debra Winfrey granddaughter Dathel Thompson. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday November 23, 2019 at Mt. Calvary Church of God in Christ. Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Friday November 22, 2019 at Burke Tubbs Funeral Home, Freeport. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
