Clifford T. Curboy, 87, of Quincy, IL died Saturday March 5, 2011 at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, IL. He was born on March 9, 1923 in Mt. Carroll, Il, the son of John and Carrie (Morhardt) Curboy. Clifford married Ada Perry on July 2, 1952 in Gary, IN; she died on March 17, 1998. Clifford worked for nine years for the City of Freeport, and for fourteen years at the Sleezer Home in Freeport. He was a WWII Army Veteran. His memberships included the VFW and Freeport Moose Lodge. Clifford is survived by his stepdaughter Edna Haas of Freeport, IL; four nephews Carroll (Vicki) Curboy and Aaron (Laura) Curboy both of Mt. Carroll, IL, and Thomas Nesbit and Jerry Nesbit both of Albuquerque, NM; one niece Bonnie (Michael) Petsche of Scales Mound, Il; also great nephews and great nieces, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Clifford was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one sister, four brothers, two stepsons, and a great nephew Aaron Lee Curboy. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday March 12, 2011 at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home in Freeport. Visitation will be from 9:00 until the time of service on Saturday. Burial with military honors will take place after the service at Oak Hill Cemetery in Mt. Carroll, IL. A memorial has been established in his memory.
