Clifford H. Jacobs

Clifford H. Jacobs, 73, of Doniphan, MO, formerly of Pearl City, IL, passed away Sunday January 4, 2015 at Provena St. Joseph Home in Freeport. He was born January 10, 1941 in Forreston, IL, to the late Henry C. and Emma K. (Nicodemus) Jacobs. Clifford married Patricia Polhill on March 1, 1964 in Freeport, IL. Clifford farmed his entire life, while growing up as a child and also with his wife at his side while farming in Freeport, Lena, Stockton, Elizabeth, and Pearl City. He also worked at Schrader Marketing Center in Dakota, IL, TAS Livestock in Winslow, IL, and the Pearl City Sale Barn in Pearl City, IL. He loved the outdoors and could always be seen walking his fields and pastures, caring for (and spoiling) his animals, and tinkering with and repairing his machinery. Family also meant a great deal to Clifford. He retired to Doniphan , MO where he still kept his hands in the daily farm routine until his health began to fail. Clifford is survived by his wife, Patricia; five children, Julianne (Don) McNabb of Naylor, MO, Jerry Anne Jacobs of Forreston, Il, June Anne (Richard) Haijenga of Forreston, Il, Jeffrey Jacobs of Doniphan, MO, and Jennifer (Bradley) Fuller of Freeport, IL; four grandchildren, Natasha Hughes (fianc Jeremy Glick), Justin Hughes, Sheyania Hughes, and Donald James McNabb; two step-grandchildren Jeffery McNabb and Christina McNabb; one great-grandchild Zakary Glick; four step-great-grandchildren Tyler McNabb, Monique Bennett, Nigel Bennett, and Isiah Bennett; six sisters Mary Robinson of Wisconsin, Vi Bowers, Judy Decorah, Linda Meyers, Carol Dagner all of Illinois, and Cathy Baltazor of Colorado, one brother Jesse Jacobs; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents one son James Jacobs; two sisters Lola Jacobs (infant) and Dorothy Kurzrock; and one brother Irvin Jacobs. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Saturday January 10, 2015 Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home in Forreston, with Rev. Burliss Parker officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:00 A.M. until the time of service. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Freeport. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in his memory.
