Clifford 'Cliff" C. Jacobs

Clifford "Cliff" C. Jacobs, 86, of Freeport, died Thursday, January 25, 2018 at Pearl Pavilion. Clifford was born January 22, 1932 in Stephenson County, the son of Charles and Hanna (Harms) Jacobs. Cliff married Susan Kramer on June 30, 1956 in Freeport. He then married Joan E. Endress in January 1974 in Freeport. Cliff served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He worked for Garman Construction, Freeport Construction, and had a Power Cleaning business with John Schlamp, before owning and operating Cliff's Building Services. Cliff attended First Lutheran Church and was a former member of Zion Church. He was a member of the V.F.W., Freeport American Legion, and Freeport Moose Lodge. He enjoyed bowling, owning his own Stock Car alongside his son, Craig; and going to all the races, especially the World 100 in Rossburg, Ohio. Cliff also loved traveling to Reno, Nevada and Tucson, Arizona. Surviving are his wife, Joan Jacobs of Freeport; former wife, Susan Jacobs of Freeport; son, Craig Jacobs of Freeport; daughter, Ann (Kerry) Rippy of Freeport; step-son, Rick (Mary) Pierce of Freeport; sister, Joann (Roger) Freeze of Seward; three grandchildren, Stefanie Jacobs, Sarah Heitter and Amy Pierce; great-grandchild, Savannah Heitter; and two nieces and Tammy and Wendy. Cliff was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Monday January 29, 2018 at Burke Tubbs Funeral Home. Pastor Keith Johnson will officiate. Visitation will be 2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. Sunday January 28, 2018 also at Burke Tubbs. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. A memorial has been established in Cliff's memory.
