Christopher H. Ascher

Christopher H. Ascher, 89, of Forreston, died Saturday August 22, 2015 at Pinecrest Manor Nursing Home in Mt. Morris. He is the son of Lewis and Alzina (Snapp) Ascher. Christopher married Ethel LaBudde May 15, 1954 in Freeport, IL. Christopher served the US Army during WWII in Germany and Austria. He worked for Illinois Central Railroad for 43 years. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Forreston. He enjoyed working in his garage. Christopher is survived by his wife Ethel Ascher of Forreston, IL; his son Mike Ascher of Shannon, IL; his brother Jim Ascher of Forreston, IL; and his granddaughter Elizabeth Ascher of Shannon, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents. A memorial service will be held 10:00 A.M. Thursday August 27, 2015 at First United Methodist Church in Forreston with Rev. David Poust officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 P.M. Wednesday at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home in Forreston. Burial will be in White Oak Cemetery.
