Cheryl Wichman

Cheryl L. Wichman, 73, of Freeport, IL, passed away Saturday July 6, 2024 at Generations at Neighbors in Byron, IL. She was born February 11, 1951 in Freeport, IL, the daughter of Felix and Virginia (Pepperman) Dubey. On December 27, 1969 she married Lynn Wichman in Freeport, IL. Cheryl had many careers that included working upholstery at Re-Creations, followed by cooking at the Forreston School District and also baking at FHN Memorial Hospital. She enjoyed cooking, taking joy rides in her Corvette, and spending time with her family, especially her great-grandchildren.

Surviving is her husband, Lynn of Freeport; daughter, Tammy Wichman of Pecatonica, IL; brother Gary (Diane) Dubey of Freeport, IL; four grandchildren, Tawney (Clayton Tobin) Moring of Forreston, IL, Garrett (Kelcy) Moring of Forreston, IL, Brock Dornink of Pecatonica, IL, and Brynn Dornink of Pecatonica, IL; and five great-grandchildren, Cohen Moring, Camden Dunn, Molly Moring, Reileigh Moring, and Calle Tobin.

Preceding Cheryl in death is her parents and father and mother-in-law Henry and Velda Wichman.

Per Cheryl’s wishes there will be no services. Cremation rites have been accorded. Inurnment will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Freeport, IL. A memorial has been established in Cheryl’s memory.
