Chavis Jay Rucker, of Freeport departed this early life July 26, 2022. He was born July 21, 1975, in Freeport IL the son of Howard Shirley and Wonda Rucker. Chavis was employed as production worker at Titan Tire. He attended Freeport High School and received an Associate Degree in Business Administration. Chavis leaves to cherish many loving memories, his parents Wonda Rucker, Howard (Gwenn) Shirley; children, Shavez Parker, Al'Laysha Rucker, Travon Rucker, Ny'Tavia Dixson, Khyren Rucker, Ja'Merranique Dixson, Aanayshia Rucker, Chavis Rucker Jr., and Kamari Crawford; brothers, Tony (Mary) Robinson, Roderick (Yetta) Piggue, Kyle Shirley and Ryan Shirley; sisters, Tawanna Robinson, Michelle Shirley, Veronica Piggue, Arica Moss, and Quenjana Adams, cousins raised as siblings Damon and Aletha Rucker; aunts, Annie (Anthony) Richmond, Annie Mae Rucker, Judith Lee, and Beatrice Blackmon; uncles, Earl Rucker Jr., Pete Rucker, and Grady Clark; longtime special friend, Myrtis Braxton; special cousins, Vancie (Sam) Jackson, Tina Allen, Henry Allen, Linda Hall, Vivian Lacy, Brennetta Hall, and Emma Baker; a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his brother, Anthony Heffner; grandparents, Eddie and Annie Allen, Earl Rucker Sr., and Hartsel (Geraldine) Shirley; great-grandparents Monroe & Rebecca Fane; uncle, Hartsel Shirley Jr., aunts, Annette Rucker and Nancy Rucker; nephews, DeAndre Piggue and Reason Shirley. Services will be held 12:00 p.m. Saturday, August 6, 2022, at Faith Temple C.O.G.I.C, 579 E. Madison Street. Burial in City Cemetery. Visitation will be held 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
